Originally recorded in 1980 during Ayers’ visit to Lagos, Music of Many Colours is a rare meeting of minds that blends hypnotic Afrobeat rhythms with rich jazz textures, soulful vocals, and infectious groove.

The album features just two extended tracks: the politically charged and deeply rhythmic “2000 Blacks Got to Be Free,” led by Ayers, and the title track “Music of Many Colours,” a sprawling, celebratory piece by Fela that pulses with sax riffs, layered percussion, and sharp social commentary.
