Hip-hop giant Common served up the politically charged A Beautiful Revolution EP late last year and now follows it up and expands on it over the course of this new full length. It finds the acclaimed lyricist and smooth flowing rapper in full swing with tunes that speak of both universal hope and personal progress. The record comes laden with plenty of fine aAfro-centric hooks and drum breaks full of dusty as well as strong pro-Black messages and acknowledgement of the pain people of colour continue to suffer. A real gem.
