A lot has been done to try and right the wrongs of Britain's now-notoriously patriarchally biased electronic music history. Nevertheless, some names still haven't won the attention they deserve, although after winter 2025 Daphne Oram may no longer be one of the overlooked thanks to this compilation of revisits and reimagined work, and a live show inspired by the project at London's Barbican. One of the founding members of BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Oram was instrumental in the development of UK synth culture, created the Oramics graphical music technique, and was the first woman to establish and direct personal electronic music studio. She also achieved a lot without credit, including the spectacular soundtrack to 1961 movie The Innocents. Here, TAAHLIAH, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Marta Salogni, Arushi Jain and more have some fun rethinking her output, results ranging from glitch to raw leftfield techno, ambient to lo-fi.
