A 1987 gem of an album by the great Pharoah Sanders. Africa features the Sanders saxophone alongside Curtis Lundy, John Hicks and Idris Muhammad, bringing things down to a classic quartet situation. These recordings include a take on Coltrane’s ‘Naima’ and Sanders own classic ‘You’ve Got To Have Freedom’, among much else.
