Released in 1995, Life is the fifth studio album by British soul-pop band Simply Red. The album marked a confident return to their signature blend of smooth soul, pop, and reggae influences, while also showcasing a more mature and introspective sound.
 
Fronted by Mick Hucknall’s distinctive, emotive vocals, Life balances heartfelt ballads with rhythmic, groove-driven tracks. The album’s biggest hit, “Fairground,” became the band’s first UK No. 1 single, built around an infectious bassline and relaxed yet danceable production.
