The source material here is Johnny Osbourne's 'We Need Love' from his Studio One opus Truth & Rights, a cornerstone of the Kingston selector circuit, here taken on in lovingly vintage tones by Marta Roman's The Blaxound project, based locally in Barcelona, with Roberto Sanchez on vocal duties. The B-side reverses time: Rel McCoy, an American MC, raps over blown-up samples drawn directly from the A, collapsing soul and hip-hop iterations into a single, harder-hitting object.
