Vin Gordon – African Shores

"African Shores" is a 2019 album by legendary Jamaican trombonist Vin Gordon, featuring new compositions alongside original rhythm tracks from Nat Birchall and Al Breadwinner. Recorded using old-school analogue techniques at the Bakery Studio in Manchester, the album is a collection of 9 tracks, comprising 6 tunes and 3 dub versions. The music blends roots and dub styles, with some tracks showcasing a jazz groove and others a darker, more brooding atmosphere. The album is praised for its mellow vibe, rocking rhythms, and classic reggae/dub sound, reminiscent of vintage King Tubby albums.
