Akae Beka’s inimitable style developed over decades of performing with the St. Croix-based band Midnite. By the time of his untimely passing in 2019, he had released over 70 LPs. The production trinity, Zion I Kings, has been involved collectively and individually in co-creating some of the most highly regarded contributions to the vast Akae Beka catalog. Kibir La Amlak is a RasTafari roots reggae music producer, selector, sound engineer, and record label manager. Before Zero Records worked with Tippy I Grade to mix a series of dub mixes from a carefully curated selection of his extensive works with Vaughn Benjamin. The vocal and corresponding dub mixes were then cut to wax by Lewis Hopkin of Star Delta and wrapped in a collage made of Ras Marcus’s artworks, crafted for various LP covers of Vaughn’s works throughout the years, with the lyrics transcribed and printed on the rear of each sleeve.
